Summary

Each page of Brigada looks like a hand drawn animated film.

The first volume takes readers into a new realm of mystery and magic and I eagerly anticipate further installments.

Brigada is a high fantasy graphic novel by Enrique Fernandez (Nima). The first part of a planned trilogy, it follows a band of Dwarves tasked with navigating the surreal terrain of a fantastic forest enshrouded in an enchanted mist. The vapors weave new worlds into the land and many dark creatures lurk in its shroud.

Fernandez creates an intoxicating fantasy world. Even the age-old archetypes of Dwarves, Dark Elves, and Witches are rendered in fresh exciting ways. His artistic background in animation shines in Brigada’s richly expressive characters, lush environments, fantastic creatures, and cinematic presentation.

With the first volume of Brigada, Fernandez has created the first act of an epic tale. I was mesmerized by the psychedelic mythology created within the world of the comic. Colorful, intriguing, and philosophical as fantasy comics come, Brigada is at the top of its class!

Brigada volume 1 is available now from Magnetic Press.
