During Jump Festa, Bandai-Namco revealed yet another character that would become playable in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot; a game that, considering it’s title, people believed would only have one character. This time, it’s Future Trunks’ turn to have a shot, as a recently unveiled trailer offers several minutes of playable Trunks. We see him in a battle against Frieza, then the scene eventually changes into showing him exploring the world, while also getting involved in side quests.
This places Trunks alongside Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta as a playable character. Though precisely what he’ll be doing aside from beating Frieza remains to be seen, as the character didn’t spend a ton of time doing much aside from battling the Androids … and getting bodied by Cell. He might have had more use if they included his appearances in the films, but our understanding is those won’t have anything to do with this game, so Trunks will likely get a lot of original content if he’s going to be used for long periods.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 17th.
